The opportunity

We are recruiting a senior professional to lead public affairs activity across the business, strengthening our capabilities and expertise. The Public Affairs Director will drive the development and expansion of our established public affairs services, aligned to the ongoing growth of our business.

This is a senior, client-facing role. The successful individual will be ambitious, goal oriented and experienced. They will be responsible for public affairs activity across the business, setting strategic direction and ensuring the quality and performance of our work.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead public affairs activity ensuring a consistent, high-quality approach across all accounts
  • Act as a senior adviser to clients on policy, political and reputational issues
  • Take responsibility for the quality of service delivery and the performance of public affairs accounts
  • Lead and develop the public affairs team, coordinating internal colleagues and external partners as required
  • Drive new business opportunities in public affairs and contribute to wider agency growth

Requirements

  • Significant experience in a public affairs or government relations role
  • In-depth understanding of the Irish political and policy landscape
  • Confident advising senior stakeholders on complex policy and reputational issues
  • A track record of leading and delivering high-quality public affairs programmes
  • Established relationships across Irish political and policy stakeholders
  • Experience working in or closely with political or policy institutions
  • A track record of winning new business and growing client relationships
  • Experience in a consultancy or agency environment is an advantage
