Mechanical and Electrical Engineering firm Designer Group (DG) have announced they will be sponsoring the Girls U9s and Boys U8s football teams of Sheriff St YC. Founded in 1972 the club is run by the community for the community, with almost 100 children taking part in football and other activities every day.
The new sponsorship deal was spearheaded by former Sheriff St YC player Paul Murphy who today works as an engineer with Designer Group. Paul was both the club’s most decorated and its longest serving player - playing for 26 years and bringing home much silverware over that time. He retired in 2022.
Speaking about the relationship with Sheriff St YC Adrian O’Leary Executive Director Designer Group said: “Grassroots football provides huge benefits to children both on the pitch and off. We are proud to be able to lend this sponsorship support to ensure the young girls and boys teams have the kits and training gear they need. We wish them the best of luck for the new season”.
