Google Launches Home and Home Mini in Ireland
Today, Google launches its famous Google Home and Google Home Mini devices in Ireland, the hands-free smart speakers powered by the advanced voice recognition capabilities of Google Assistant.
By simple voice command, Google Home opens up to every home the power of the internet and compatible smart devices – all without needing to touch a button. Search the web, check your calendar, get directions, and play your favourite music all while concentrating on something more important, such as spending time with friends and family.
Users can start a request by simply saying “OK Google…” or “hey Google” and the Google Home will provide information, weather, traffic, recipes, news, directions, flight details, and so much more – instantly. Google Home also gives voice control over compatible ‘smart home’ devices too, such as thermostats, lighting systems, and televisions, with much more to come.
Google Home and Home Mini will be available in stores nationwide for €149 and €59 respectively, as well as the online Google Store, from today.
The devices were launched at the prestigious Lansdowne Place development in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, where they were introduced and demonstrated by Tríona Butler, the Tipperary-born but Silicon Valley-based Google Home User Experience Lead.
Speaking at the event, Ms Butler commented, “I’m honoured to attend the Irish launch of Google Home – it’s great to be back in Ireland and to see the product I’ve been working on these last few years in Irish shops. Ireland has always openly embraced new technology and I’m excited to see Google Homes in Irish homes very soon. As a nation we’ve always put friends and family first, and these devices will help continue that tradition by freeing up time to spend with the ones we love.”
The Lansdowne Place collection of stunning apartments and penthouses represents the best in luxury living in Ireland and was the perfect backdrop to showcase Google Home’s ‘smart home’ integration and sleek minimalist design.
RSP & Availability:
Google Home will have an RSP of €149 and Home Mini will be RSP €59 from DID Electrical, Harvey Norman, Curry’s PC World, Expert Electrical, and Power City, as well as the Google store.
