Bewley’s awarded 12 Gold Stars at 2014 Great Taste Awards

Bewley’s Tea and Coffee yet again receives International Recognition for Taste & Quality

Bewley’s has been awarded 12 Gold Stars at the Great Taste Awards 2014, announced by the Guild of Fine Foods in London this week. Bewley’s Irish Breakfast Tea, Dublin Morning Tea, Irish Afternoon Tea, and Bewley’s Kenya and Espresso Fresh Ground Coffee are just some of the Bewley’s products that were recognised by the Guild for their exceptional quality and taste.

The Great Taste Awards is the most prestigious and trusted of food and drink awards, and the acknowledged benchmark of outstanding quality in the food industry. All products are judged by at least three different judging panels including fine food retailers, chefs, restaurant critics, food writers and other industry experts. All tasting is blind ensuring that the quality of taste, flavour and texture are the only criteria taken into account.

Describing the unique characteristics of some of the individual winning products, Mr. Saunders said, “Our famous Irish Breakfast Tea is a blend of finest Darjeeling, African and Assam India loose teas leaves; rich in flavour and quality. Bewley’s Espresso Ground coffee is 100% Arabica and roasted at a lower temperature for longer for a stronger, fuller taste and a perfect crema.

Bewley’s Kenya fresh coffee is one of our most popular and best-selling coffees with Irish consumers. This single origin coffee is 100% Arabica coffee, grown between the Great Rift Valley and Mount Kenya in light volcanic soil, which gives it a unique freshness and smoothness.”
