PA Consulting Appoints New Country Head to Drive Business in Ireland

PA Consulting, the leading international management, systems and information technology consultancy, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Frank O’Donnell as its new country manager in Ireland.

Dr. O’Donnell will lead PA Consulting’s expansion plans for the island of Ireland, including growing its services portfolio in a number of different industry sectors over the coming year.

Dr. O’Donnell has worked for PA Consulting in Ireland, the UK and in the Middle East, specialising in the areas of education and science, technology and innovation.

Prior to taking up his present position, he was based in Belfast, where he advised the Government on the use of new technology and the implementation of large scale change programmes.

Dr. O’Donnell said: "In the present economic climate, Governments and businesses have to focus on productivity and improved service delivery while maintaining or reducing costs. Organisations need to be increasingly innovative in responding to these challenges".

Prior to joining PA Consulting, Dr. O’Donnell was a Senior Director at Scottish Enterprise, where he headed up the state development agency’s efforts to develop the e-business, telecoms, e-learning and software sectors in Scotland.

While there, he was responsible for leading investment by the public sector in broadband infrastructure for the benefit of Scottish businesses. Previously, he worked in the information technology sector, in project management, helping large scale engineering firms to improve their design processes and productivity.

Dr. O’Donnell has also led research work on engineering design and on performance management, publishing one book on this topic, along with several research papers. A native of Donegal, Dr. O’Donnell holds a PhD and M. Sc. from the University of Strathclyde.
