Bewley’s to be exclusive Latte Art provider at Street Performance World Championship

Coffee fuelled performances will wow visitors to Merrion Square

20 billion milk bubbles to be created

Coffee contortionists, bean jugglers and espresso magicians Bewley’s will add their own touch of performance art to the AIB Street Performance World Championship in Dublin’s Merrion Square this month.  Ireland’s favourite fresh coffee company is the exclusive provider of coffee and latté artists for the Championship which will serve up a feast of family fun and laughter from 12 – 8 pm daily, 17th – 20th June.

Bewley’s will froth up some twenty billion milk bubbles for the tens of thousands of coffees it will serve throughout the festival.   Bewley’s baristas will run three fresh coffee stations in Merrion Square, offering perfectly created cappuccinos, lattes, Americanos, espressos, mochas, hot chocolates and teas.

Joining in the fun of the festival, Bewley’s will also have a children’s drawing area and a fun “Bewley’s Tea Party” photo station for children along with the Bewley’s Bambicino, a delicious frothed milk drink for children.  People can also follow the fun with Bewley’s on Twitter and Facebook via www.bewleys.com where a competition will run to win tickets for Cirque du Soleil’s Saltimbanco show - on its way to Dublin in July.

For two magical weekends in June the best contortionists, magicians, breakdancers, comedians and other assorted world-class professional jesters are descending on Ireland; on June 12th and 13th in Cork’s Fitzgerald Park and Mardyke Sports Ground, and from June 17th to 20th in Dublin’s Merrion Square.  Performers will  battle it out for the most coveted title in street performance, the AIB Street Performance World Champion.  Further details of this event are at www.spwc.ie

In 2009 over 150,000 people attended what is arguably Ireland's greatest public festival. 2010 will be the festival’s fifth year in Dublin's Merrion Square and was its second year running in Fitzgerald Park, Cork.  Due to the phenomenal turnout last year, the Cork festival will also expand to the Mardyke Sports Ground this year. Using voting booths the public get to crown the 2010 AIB Street Performance World Champion.
